Lu’s Labs is Powered Entirely by Volunteers.

I adopted a lab through Lu’s and was so impressed by the process and experience that I became a volunteer.

Our Greatest Needs are Adoption Coordinators and Fosters.

We are always in need of adoption coordinators and foster volunteers. To learn more about any of these volunteer roles, click the links below.

Adoption Coordinators are how we make sure our labs are getting paired with the perfect furever family! We are always looking for volunteers to help us review applications and guide potential adoptive families through the process!

Fostering is one of the most important and rewarding roles in rescue. Lu’s Labs does not have a facility to house our rescues, nor do we have the funds to board them. Fosters are the backbone of our rescue and make everything we do possible!

Other Current Openings

We are always looking for volunteers to assist as Adoption Coordinators. If you would like to help families and pups find one another, join us as an Adoption Coordinator from the comfort of your home.

We are currently in search of fundraising volunteers to help our Fundraising team to raise money for pups in need and plan future events! Please review the posting and apply to help us rescue more pups!

Use this application to apply for any of the positions listed above. Please note that the foster volunteer opportunities each require a separate application.

All About Fostering

by Girl Scout Troop #2159

I am always asked, ‘how do you do it’? And I am always thinking... How do you not?
— A Lu's Volunteer On Fostering

Girl Scout Troop #2159 conducted their Bronze Award Project in partnership with Lu's Labs!

Girl Scout Troop #2159 conducted their Bronze Award Project in partnership with Lu's Labs! The project consisted of a multi-part campaign to support the rescue's operations: The troop produced this video to help educate members of their community about the responsibilities and benefits of fostering dogs in need of adoption - and to encourage their audience to get involved. In addition to spreading the word about fostering, the troop gathered donations of items specifically needed and requested by Lu's Labs foster families (harnesses, safe toys, etc.). They delivered the supplies to the rescue and had an opportunity to meet foster families (and their rescue dogs) during an emergency evacuation transport run - complete with welcome signs for our wonderful volunteers and deserving dogs!

To produce this video and help understand the most critical donation needs of foster families, each member of the troop conducted independent research, developed questions, and interviewed a member of the Lu's Labs Volunteer Community (foster families, Vice President of Medical, and more!)

We are incredibly proud of Troop #2159 for their commitment and support to saving dogs and educating their community about this important work!
